Just a little note to say that I won't be around on my blog for a while. I am soooooo busy this Easter. Loads of Easter church services, church camp, going to Legoland, shopping in Exeter, best friends birthday sleepover, a dance show at my local theater for four nights, a campout and finishing season eight of desperate housewives (I may cry!) So yes, busy busy busy! Hope you all have an ammmmmmazing Easter!
Will be back in about two weeks time, lots of love!

Style Icon: Carrie Bradshaw!

(picture weheartit)
A while back I entered into Clothes Show Lives junior journalist of the year award. I didn't win (no surprise there) but I am incredibly proud of the piece of work I submitted. I spent so long working on it plus it was a good excuse to watch SATC again and again! I would love to become a fashion/beauty journalist later on in life so thought it would be fun to enter! The topic was your fashion icon and surprise surprise, I wrote about Carrie Bradshaw. I thought you lovely lot might be interested in reading it, so here it is!
Style Icon – Carrie Bradshaw.
It goes without saying that Carrie Bradshaw, the love crazed character from Sex & the City is one of the biggest style icons in fashion. I use her outfits as an endless supply of inspiration for my wardrobe. Its people like her that makes getting dressed in the morning that little bit more significant to fashion lovers. Even when she’s wearing sports shorts and a slightly cheesy vest top she’s still strutting around New York in Christian Louboutins.
Carrie as a character is an icon, and Sarah Jessica Parker is no style slouch either. But the real credit goes to the stylists behind the scenes, mainly the legend that is, Patricia Field.
Mrs Bradshaw’s outfits tell the tale of a ten year journey of breakups, friendships, a honeymoon, affairs and a lot of laughter along the way.
In Sex and the city 2, Carrie is seen wearing a ‘’J’adore Dior’’ t-shirt with a puffy, purple skirt. This outfit was risky, and if worn on the wrong girl, they could easily end up looking like a trifle. But being her ‘I can pull anything off’’ self she does just that and rocks it! On another occasion Carrie is seen gliding along the bliss full beach in an orange, pleated maxi dress. She looked so glamorous in this yet not overdressed. The floating maxi dress and the sunset in the background looked so perfect and picturesque.
Carrie is certainly not one to blend in. For example in the opening scene of ‘Sex and the City 1’ Carries show stopping flower dress instantly tells you that Carrie is certainly no fashion faux pa.
The definition of a style icon is someone who has timeless style and manages to influence others in how they dress. To me, Carrie Bradshaw is the ultimate style icon.

No 7 Lipstick: Shade 40 LOVELY

This lipstick does not dissapoint!
It has a creamy, smooth texture and applies a dream. It doesn't dry my lips out and is extremely moisturizing.
I was given this lipstick as a gift by my Aunt not so long ago and have been loving it more than ever recently. I tend to shy away from bold colours, and alothough this isn't boldest colour out, it's still a little out my comfort zone. Or so I thought!
It's in shade 40 Lovely, and looks pretty scary at first. Once on it looks beautiful. An autumnal, glistening red shade with pink undertones. It's extremely flattering and is a good colour for those who are gradually working there way up to big bold colours.
I'm not sure how much these lipsticks are, but I would reccomend that if you're going to purchase anything from No7 you wait till there giving out £5 off vouchers when you buy anything from Boots, and then redeem them to make your buy cheaper.
Have you ever tried No7's lipsticks?

Style resolution!

(picture - weheartit)
Watching London Fashion Week live has inspired me no end. (Read my previous post on LFW here) Not necessarily just on the catwalk, but off too. Due to this, I have decided to make a style resolution. Yes, yes – I know it’s not the New Year, but I’m late with everything. The Downton Abbey craze, Harry Potter, the I heart book trilogy so what harm will throwing a New Year’s resolution into the mix too? Anyway…technically it’s not a New Year resolution, it’s a style resolution!

Don’t be afraid to dress up. It is known that me and my friends love any excuse to dress up. Quite literally. But on some occasions I do chicken out of wearing an outfit I love, saying to my mum “Everyone will be wearing jeans and t-shirts, I’m going to look like a massive try hard!” From now on I really want to just wear what I want to wear. If I feel good in it, chances are I will look happier and just generally have a better day! It’s better to be overdressed than under dressed ey?
Are you going to make any changes to your wardrobe after fashion week?

Wishlist Wednesday's 01

I have decided to start doing a few 'series' on my blog, and one of them is 'Wishlist Wednesday's'.
I love reading other peoples wishlists, as more often than not, I find some great bargains because of them.
I hope you all enjoy this series, and if you have done a wishlist recently, please comment with the link!
First off I will start with the three items from New Look Teens.
Teens floral printed bunny ears
Aren't these just the definition of cute!? They look so summery and I NEED them for festival season!
£2 (buy here)
Teens black lace up chelsea boots
I am in love with them, and they need to come into my life asap! I tend to live in my tan flat boots, yet these are such a classic I'm sure they can share the limelight!
(£12 in the sale! Buy here)
Teens grey top hat cat sweater
Isn't this just the cutest!? I think this would make the simplest of jeans look so much more cute and slightly preppy.
This is in the sale reduced from £16.99 to £7! BARGAIN!
(Buy here)
Now onto the two things that aren't from New Look for teens...
Urban Decay Oz the great and powerful Theodora palette
Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite film, always has been, always will be! So Urban Decay have pretty much combined my two favorite things...Oz and makeup! There's no way my poor little teenage budget can afford this but oh well...here's dreaming!
(Buy here)
Mulberry over sized willow tote
Now for the most un realistic item on my wishlist. There is no way in a million years I could ever justify spending that much on a bag! Not while there are still children going hungry in the world, no way. Oh well, a girl can dream!
(Buy here)

Any items on this list that you're after?

London Fashion Week

(screenshot - me)
Sorry the picture is a bit poop, it was the only one I got!
This year is the first year I have watched London Fashion week live, and I know it sounds pathetic but it’s been a real experience. Me and magazines have had a special bond for the last couple of years, I would spend hours drooling over Burberry trench coats and Mulberry handbags. That was good, but the live streaming is such a great extension to magazines! Watching LFW live means that I can get a sense of what the atmosphere is like there, the music, the speed, the type of catwalk. I have spent these last few days with a cup of coffee in hand; my pink laptop at the ready and my iphone open on twitter. I have got into quite a routine of reading tweets about what’s expected from the show, watching it myself (whilst tweeting like there’s no tomorrow!) and then seeing on twitter what everyone else thought of the show. I have loved every minute of it and am filled with inspiration for my own collection one day – a girl can dream eh? London Fashion Week has got a big fat 10/10 from me this year! The schedule on their website is laid out clearly and their tweets are such a help in knowing what shows are running late ect. My favourite shows had to be Unique, Mulberry and Burberry – especially the dogs in the Mulberry show, too cute! Did you tune in to any of the live streaming of London Fashion Week? What was your favourite collection?

Shine on award!

(Photo - me)

Last week I was awarded the 'Shine on' award from the lovely Tolly from Tolly Dolly Posh (http://tollydollyposhfashion.com/)
To complete the process of passing this award on, I have to answer these few questions.

1 – Blusher or Bronzer?
Definitely bronzer, being so pale it adds a much needed glow to my face!
2 – Honey or Chocolate?
Chocolate! I only like honey on gamon and in honey and lemon drinks, apart from that I think it's vile!
3 – David Beckham or Josh Hutcherson?
Josh Hutcherson!
4 – Vivienne Westwood or Coco Chanel?
Vivienne Westwood! After being only a few metres away from her, listening to an interview at an event in London, I adore the woman. I love what she stands for!
5 – Fish fingers or Sushi?
Nothing beats a burnt fish finger ketchup sandwich!
6 – Name a film that makes your cry.
Titanic, I weep like a baby.
7 – Would you climb a mountain or shave your hair off for charity?
I want to do both in the future!
8 – If you had to wear one item of clothing for a whole year, what would it be and why?
My black fitted blazer, it goes with everything!
9 – If you had to go and live with one Fashion Designer, who would it be?
Probably with Victoria Beckham, I would love to see how busy her life is and what she does from day to day, I think it would be fascinating!
10 – What would you make if you were given: A plastic bag, a pair of curtains, a sofa cover, a pair of scissors and tape?
A very weird looking dress with a really long trail, kind of like a wedding dress!

I nominate;

Laura from 'A secret diary of a fashion journalist' She has been my favourite blogger since I first started reading them. I have seen her blog go from a hundred or so followers right up to nearly 2000!

Michelle from 'lovely Michelle' She has some great posts, I especially loved the Saturday night post Michelle put live last week!  http://lovelymichelle-y.blogspot.co.uk/

Ree from http://www.reallyree.com/ - Her blog has been a firm fave from the start, I found her bootcamp posts so interesting! ohh and she met the Spice girls, how cool is that!?

Britt from 'Just loves fashion' I love Britts blog, and she has youtube too!

Her blog is relatively new, as she only started it in January but I just love her style so much!

Here are my questions!

1) Hot or cold ribena?
2) Chocolate or sweets?
3) Who is you're style icon?
4) What one makeup product could you not survive without?
5) Superdrug or Boots?
6) What is your favourite Lush product?
7) foundation or BB cream?
8) What is your favourite month?
9) Marmite, do you love it or hate it?
10) What is your favourite childhood book?

Thankyou so much to Tolly for nominating me!
To pass the post on, answer my ten questions, mention your five fave bloggers, write a set of ten questions and then notify them!
This is why I love the blogging community. I can't wait to see the girls who I nominated posts!
